Geographer
I am the son of a teacher from the 1960s when teachers moved around as part of the job. Family was was spread across the state, and indeed the country. Driving for 5 hours or more to see family was 'normal'. Driving from home to Perth was pretty epic.Â
As a boy, visiting my grandparents at their farm was always great. Homemade bread and ice cream, climbing around in the machinery shed, riding old fix wheel bikes - good times! Pa also had a massive stack of National Geographic magazines. I spent many hours looking at the pictures and maps, then reading the articles as I grew older.
The road trips and time spent reading generated my love of geography.
